
Using psychology to enhance wellbeing and performance
Sport psychology is the science of applying psychological principles to enhance the performance, enjoyment and wellbeing of sportspeople. Working with a sport psychologist can help sportspeople cope with the intense pressure that comes from competition, and overcome problems with confidence, focus, motivation, and returning from injury.

Often, what prevents someone from exercising appropriately isn’t that they don’t understand the importance of exercise, rather there are barriers caused by emotions, anxiety or low motivation. Exercise psychology can help people to deal with the issues that are holding them back, and to allow them to participate in, and enjoy, exercise.

About Me
I’m an enthusiastic Sport and Exercise Psychology practitioner, with a passion for helping my clients to become the best version of themselves. I have been practicing Sport Psychology in Jersey since 2019, in a range of professional practice scenarios. I’ve worked both privately and in the charitable sector, with a wide variety of different client groups. This has included working with people struggling with motivational or emotional barriers to exercise, clients recovering from serious injury, amateur sportspeople, and elite athletes. I have worked with the Jersey Sport Foundation, and the Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey, travelling with the team to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
I’m a passionate sportsperson myself; having previously competed internationally in Fencing, I now train and compete at amateur level in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts.
I am a keen researcher, and have published academic papers on sensation, perception and Psychological Skills Training (PST). I graduated from the Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in 2024.
I founded Strong Minds in 2020 to offer specialist Sport and Exercise Psychology consultation to help my clients, regardless of their goals or ability, to become the best version of themselves.
